Brain Explained is committed to protecting your privacy when you visit our website and product.

Our site server automatically collects nonpersonal data such as IP addresses, domain names of sites that referred you (such as search engines), and information about the pages you access. This information is used only for Brain Explained Products internal  statistical analysis, never for direct marketing.

Cookies are used by the sites server to maintain user’s preferences. Cookies are not tied to personally identifiable information. If you do not wish to use cookies, please configure your browser to prevent their use.

In general, information collected for the purpose of facilitating your use of these sites will not be shared with any third party without your consent. We may ask you for such information on our feedback forms, online surveys, or if you contact us regarding these sites. Disclosure of such information is always optional and information is never disclosed to a third party without your consent.

Our servers will not automatically record your name or e-mail address. Your e-mail address and other personal identifying data will not be known to Brain explained unless you voluntarily submit them to us. FERPA:  The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that affords parents the right to have access to their children’s education records, the right to seek to have the records amended, and the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. When a student turns 18 years old, or enters a postsecondary institution at any age, the rights under FERPA transfer from the parents to the student (“eligible student”). The FERPA statute is found at 20 U.S.C. § 1232g and the FERPA regulations are found at 34 CFR Part 99.

Privacy of our Products &  Services
Our Brain Explained Platform  requires users to register using name and email address, under their institution’s account.  Brain Explained Platform does collect user data generated by its learning surveys that are part of the tool. 

Role Based Access: The user specific data collected by the Platform will only be released to the user.  We will never release user specific data to the institution or anyone other then the owner of the data.   Institutions will have role based access that provides for restricted aggregated data provided through dashboard and queries.  We may release data sets to educational researchers  who may use aggregated data from users detached from name based personal identifiers.

Message Boards and Forums
Any user who posts information on message boards or other such venues on these sites does so for public communication and understands that such information will be publicly available. Users who post information in this manner cannot expect privacy or confidentiality regarding such information.
